server is not accessible

This is a possible solution to fix the lockout error:

\\SERVER_NAME is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to.

  • The first thing you must do is open your windows home server in a remote desktop protocol (RDP): Start > All Programs > Accessories > Remote Desktop Connection. Login to your account as “Administrator” your password should be the same as your WHS.
  • Next click the Start Menu and right click on My Computer and select Manager.
  • Select Local Users and Groups in the left column. Now double click users in the right column.
  • Select the user name you want to unlock and right click to select properties.
  • Finally click the Checkbox in the bottom of the windows that read “Account is Locked Out“.

  • After following the steps you should be able to now connect to your shared folders!
